About Our CEO

Steph is passionate about giving back to the local communities that have supported him and this is demonstrated in his commitments. Steph’s latest gift, which totals $10 million in direct support for Husky Athletics and brings his overall contributions to more than $12.5 million, makes him the largest donor in Bloomsburg University’s history. But for Pettit, his commitment is about so much more than the amount of his gift. It’s about supporting his passion and also channeling that support in a way that will best align with BU and Husky athletics’ strategic goals.

True Community Support

In addition to supporting BU athletics, Steph has not forgotten about the mass communications department from which he obtained his degree. He recently established a gift to fund experiential learning opportunities through a production company for current students that features documentary and long-form video projects. In 2019, he was awarded an honorary doctor of humane letters for his commitment and dedication to supporting the advancement of Bloomsburg University.
In recognition of the impact of his gift on Husky Athletics and the entire BU community, the University has renamed and branded it’s upper-campus athletic complex to the Bloomsburg University Pettit Athletic Complex.
“Steph’s passion for BU is unmistakable,” said BU Director of Athletics Michael McFarland. “He is truly an ambassador for all our teams with a desire to see each of them be successful. This gift, we hope, will also inspire others to contribute and help BU become the premier athletic program we all know it can be.
The Tampa Warriors Hockey Program, Inc (“TWHP”) was formed on November 29, 2017, and formally incorporated on January 1, 2020. The TWHP, a 501(c)(3), has been organized to operate exclusively for charitable and educational purposes, for those wounded in defense of the United States and America’s First Responders.
The purpose of the TWHP is to serve the disabled veteran community, the hockey community at large and the community at large in the Tampa, FL region. Our mission is to provide both a recreational and competitive environment/team that is therapeutic and educational for our members so that we serve each other and our communities.
Values.
The program educates, trains, motivates, and encourages those who have physical disabilities incurred during service to the United States to participate in the sport of ice hockey in an environment that is adapted to the level of their ability. The TWHP, Inc. is staffed by volunteers, on-ice and off-ice mentors and directors who do not receive any compensation, stipend or other remuneration for their time.”
